The Sitges Festa Major has been declared “Fiesta Patrimonial de Interés Nacional ” (Heritage Festival of National Interest) by the Generalitat de Catalunya (autonomous government of Catalonia), 2016 and “Fiesta Tradicional de Interés Nacional” (Traditional/cultural event of National Interest) by the Generalitat de Catalunya (autonomous government of Catalonia), 1991.
